Electro-rock Duo Tricky Bizzniss Release Debut Album

.
Quote:
Featuring the Former Vocalist of The Crystal Method Trixie Reiss and 2x Grammy-nominee Ernie Lake - Electro-rock duo TRICKY BIZZNISS prepares to release their debut self-titled album, releasing September 12, 2006 on EsNtion Records.

The duo is none other than the former vocalist for the highly-acclaimed group The Crystal Method Trixie Reiss and 2-time Grammy nominee Ernie Lake.

Coming from two diverse backgrounds, Trixie Reiss and Ernie Lake had their first meeting on September 10th, 2001. Their goal was to collaborate their talents and make music that was new and exciting. The very next day was the day the world changed forever. Every artist, including Trixie and Ernie, had to re-think their ideals and how to deal with their music and audience. They put their project on hold and reconvened a while later to reignite their discussions, and ultimately TRICKY BIZZNISS was born. The name was fitting, as entering into a new venture during the difficult emotional era post-9/11 was, in itself, a tricky business move.

When they were coming to terms with their goal for the album, they decided to make something less heady and dense than originally planned. The music of TRICKY BIZZNISS was to be something very positive and uplifting. They wanted to give America and the world what it needed – a fun group of songs. “This album is all about having fun,” says Trixie.

And have fun they did. >From the ‘80s electro bass-heavy, Thompson Twins-esque track “Cybertronic” leading off the album, to the synth-pop “Jet Set Ride” and the reggae-infused “Love Ain’t Money,” the duo bends and twists genres in ways that might have some die-hard music lovers reeling. But one look at the industry and you’ll see that genre-mixing is quite popular and necessary. TRICKY BIZZNISS takes the daunting task head-on and hits the mark with each track, including the “angry chick-rock” anthem “So Long.” And the first two singles from the album, “Day To Day” and “C’mon C’mon,” respectively, are already making waves, each with a handful of house, tribal and dirty-tech remixes to pick from.

While the group is a new addition to the music community, its members are not. Trixie Reiss, while most noted for her work as the lead singer on The Crystal Method’s Platinum Vegas LP, has worked around the globe, with such notables as the Real McCoy and UK duo Skylark. She also co-wrote and sang on buzzy international rhythm master Karsh Kale’s new album “Broken English.” Two-time Grammy® nominee (Remixer of the Year in 1999 and Best Dance Recording in 2000 for Cyndi Lauper’s “Disco Inferno”) and former Soul Solution member Ernie Lake who has produced and remixed everyone from Blondie and Roberta Flack to Britney Spears and the Rolling Stones.

With their album releasing almost 5 years to the day they first met, TRICKY BIZZNISS has put their all into it – so hold on tight and get ready for a wild ride!
